HISD Summer Leadership Conference 2022

In this session, campus leaders will gain a clear understanding of how engaging in the 4-Step Process for ELPS Integration ensures the progression of second language acquisition of emergent bilingual learners. Participants will use district and state resources to support teachers with (1) identifying students’ ELP levels, (2) using appropriate linguistic accommodations during Tier I instruction, (3) providing content-based language instruction (CBLI) to make content comprehensible and build academic language in all content areas, and (4) understanding the essential lesson planning components needed to support emergent bilingual learners.
